Who it suits
Cunard has been shaping ocean travel for generations, and it still travels in its own register: afternoon tea, elegant public rooms, ballroom dancing, and Gala Evenings that invite formal wear. Families are welcome, with clubs for children and teenagers on selected voyages, but the evenings are dressier than on most lines, and that is rather the point.
Queen Mary 2 and the crossing
The flagship is the reason many people book. Queen Mary 2 was built as an ocean liner, and her Transatlantic Crossing between Southampton and New York is typically a week at sea: a way to arrive in New York, or leave it, that makes the journey part of the holiday. On board there is a planetarium and a large library, and kennels on selected crossings.
Where they sail
The four Queens, Queen Mary 2, Queen Anne, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, sail the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Caribbean. The world voyages call across Africa, the Indian Ocean, Asia, Australia and the Americas, and selected sectors can be booked on their own, some of them reaching Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Can I book Cunard from Kenya?

Cunard is dressier in the evening than most lines. Gala Evenings invite formal wear and the other evenings call for smart clothes. The exact guidance depends on the voyage, and we confirm it for your sailing before you travel.
How long is a Queen Mary 2 transatlantic crossing?
The classic crossing between Southampton and New York is typically a week at sea. Dates and length depend on the itinerary, so ask us for the current crossings and we will put the flights either side on the same quote.
Can children sail on Cunard?
Yes. There are dedicated programmes and spaces for children and teenagers on selected voyages, and family accommodation in a range of cabin categories. Age limits and what runs on board vary by sailing, so tell us the ages and we will advise.
