Seychelles is 115 islands, and the difference between them is the whole point. Mahé has the airport, the mountains and most of the hotels. Praslin has the Vallée de Mai, where the coco de mer grows nowhere else on earth. La Digue has ox carts and Anse Source d’Argent.

Where you’ll stay
Constance Ephelia spreads over Mahé’s north-west above Port Launay Marine National Park. It is the best of the family options, and the snorkelling starts at the beach.
Kempinski Seychelles sits in Baie Lazare on the south-west coast, under Mount Kempinski.
Hilton Northolme is adults-only: villas on the rock above the water, seven kilometres from Victoria.
Story Seychelles is in Beau Vallon Bay, ten minutes from town, with a reef offshore and a beach that swims year-round.
Canopy by Hilton and DoubleTree Allamanda are the value end, both on good south-coast water.
