Malaysia & Singapore Highlights
Eleven days across both countries. Kuala Lumpur and the Batu Caves, Genting Highlands, Langkawi's beaches and cable car, then Singapore for Sentosa, Universal Studios and the Night Safari.
View itinerarySingapore is the opposite of its neighbours: ordered, green, and very good at entertainment. Sentosa is the island half: beaches, a boardwalk, a cable car and Universal Studios. The city half is Marina Bay, Little India, Chinatown, and Gardens by the Bay in the evening, when the supertrees light up.
A lot of entertainment in a small, extremely well-organised space, which is why it works as a holiday on its own and as three days on the end of Malaysia. Ships sail from here too, up the Straits of Malacca with a day ashore in Penang.
Sentosa Island. The beaches, the boardwalk, the cable car and the viewpoints, with the skyline behind you all day.
Universal Studios. A full day at the park, which is the right amount of time for it.
Marina Bay and the gardens. The Merlion, the waterfront, and Gardens by the Bay for the supertrees after dark.
The Night Safari. After dark, and on the itinerary as its own evening.
Out of the port. A Royal Caribbean sailing up through the Straits of Malacca, with a day ashore in Penang for George Town’s heritage streets.
