Overview
The shape of the journey
Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon, over seven days. Thimphu, the capital, is the centre of the country's government, religion and commerce, and an unusual mix of modern building and ancient tradition. Punakha has been part of many of the great moments in Bhutanese history, and the Punakha Dzong stands where the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers meet.
Paro is the last stop: a historic town at the centre of its valley, on the banks of the Paro Chu, rich in old sites and ancient buildings. Monasteries, dzongs, Himalayan landscapes and living Bhutanese tradition, all the way.
