Who it suits
Explora Journeys is the newest name on our list and the one that argues hardest with the word cruise. Our own write-up of it puts the pitch plainly: every space styled to feel like a home away from home, with the sophistication of a private yacht, like being a guest in a luxury hotel, but sailing the seas. The itineraries pair celebrated destinations with off-the-beaten-path gems, so the route is not only the famous ports.
Book it if design and quiet matter to you as much as the destination does. If you want a ship with a go-kart track on it, Norwegian is the other end of the same list.
On board
Nine distinct dining experiences, curated by worldly chefs: seasonal, soulful cooking with European roots. The register throughout is comfort and curiosity rather than spectacle.
Booking it from Nairobi
Explora is one of the lines we book by hand rather than through the portal on our own cruise site. Tell us the month, who is travelling and the cabin grade you have in mind, and a travel designer comes back with the sailings, the flights out of Nairobi and the hotel night before you board on one quote.

Questions
Explora Journeys, from Kenya
Can I book Explora Journeys from Kenya?
Yes. We book Explora Journeys by hand from Nairobi: tell us the month, who is travelling and roughly where, and a travel designer comes back with the sailings, the flights and the nights either side on one quote.
Do you have special fares on Explora Journeys?
Not on our current list: the 2026–28 special fares are with Royal Caribbean International, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises and Princess Cruises. We quote Explora Journeys to your dates instead, so tell us the month and the region and a travel designer comes back with what is open. See the specials we hold.
What are the suites like on Explora Journeys?
Every suite faces the sea and has its own private terrace, behind floor-to-ceiling windows. The ships read like a hotel rather than a ship: nine distinct dining experiences, cooking with European roots, and comfort rather than spectacle.
Plan the rest of it
Almost every sailing starts with a flight, so we book the flights as well and quote both together. If you would rather not fly straight home afterwards, the ports on most itineraries sit within reach of somewhere worth a few extra nights: pick the country from our destinations, or start from one of the land journeys we already run and tell us where the ship should meet it.
