The shape of the journey

Two conservancies, six nights, one road transfer in the middle. Both camps sit on private land rather than inside the reserve, which is why there are no queues at a sighting and why the vehicle can go where the animals are.

How the days run

A proposal, not a timetable. The routing, timings and inclusions are confirmed in writing before you pay anything.

Fly in to Naboisho
Straight to the conservancy by light aircraft. Ol Seki is on a rise with the plains in front of it. Coffee, then an afternoon drive as the light softens.

Day 2
Naboisho, all day
Out early, back through the heat of the middle of the day, out again at four. On private land the vehicle is not tied to a track, so a sighting can be followed rather than watched from a queue.

Day 3
On foot, then dinner under the sky
A sunrise walk with Maasai guides for anyone who wants the ground-level version. Afternoon drive, sundowners, and dinner laid out in the open afterwards.

Day 4
Across to Mara North
A road transfer north into the Mara North Conservancy and River Camp, on the riverbank. This is where the signal stops. Afternoon drive, then a fire.

Day 5
Mara North
Breakfast by the fire before the light comes up, then a full day out. A Maasai-led nature walk in the afternoon if you would rather be out of the car.

Balloon, if you want one
An optional sunrise balloon over the conservancy, landing to breakfast on the grass. Otherwise the morning drive, the river, and a last evening around the fire.
