Overview
This is the itinerary that visits the lot. Every one of The Safari Collection's Kenyan properties in eight days: the giraffes in Nairobi, the dry north at Sasaab, Solio's rhinos in the central highlands, and the Mara at Sala's Camp. Four places designed and built quite differently, and four landscapes that share nothing but a country.
Short flights link them, so no day is spent driving. It is a first safari that does not feel like a sampler, and it works just as well for a couple as it does for a family.
Where you'll stay
The manor house whose wild Nubian giraffe come to the grounds first thing and again at afternoon tea. The Giraffe Centre is inside the sanctuary, The Retreat next door.
A luxury tented camp in the hilly, dry north, with the Samburu Special Five on the drives and a choice of walks, camel rides, quad bikes or a night fly-camping in the bush.
Central Kenya, and the only property on a rhino sanctuary holding large numbers of black and white rhino. Game drives are exclusive and unhurried; explore on foot, by bicycle or on horseback.
On the Sand River with views towards the Serengeti, in one of the reserve's quieter corners. Expert guides and spotters, a hammock and a private plunge pool outside every tent.
The wellness house beside the Manor, taken as a day room at the end, with spa, gym, infinity pool and an airport transfer timed to your flight.
